An easy way mark netting for matching quarter and half points where pins may slip out, find the place you need to mark and apply a short piece of tape [can be clear or masking] about 1"-2" below the gathering stitches. Match the tape mark to the appropriate mark on the fabric, pin in place and push the tape against the fabric. This will help hold the netting to that place. Works great when adding netting layers to a petticoat.
