This is my first tip.... surf... surf... surf this site. OK I'm probably not telling any of you anything new but I didn't know where else to post this....hope this is OK here.
PR is so awesome I can't believe how much shared information is here. Thank you to everyone who contributes!!!!
I'm just getting back into sewing for myself and have splurged on a serger. The biggest thing I've learned from this site is that there are so many 'other' pattern companies out there. At first I thought it was ridiculous to spend more than a couple of bucks on a pattern but hey I'm worth it!!!

Actually, I'll add another tip into your "surf" tip. And that is "search". In the upper right corner is the search box, which is handy if you are considering any particular pattern. You can often get tips on a pattern someone else has already tackled. Also, lots of people havn't ventured over to the message boards, where you can find lots of handy tips (I certainly have! ).
