Date of Class: November 2009
Instructor: Shannon Gifford
I am a returning sewer and was overwhelmed by all the changes- threads, needles, machines, fabrics, notions, tools, etc. This class has hit the target!
I found the details in the lessons very helpful. We did not have chats but the board postings were perfect for this class.
I am trying to pass on the love of sewing to the next generation in my family and this course helped me do that. It gave me the perspective of beginners while making those of us a bit more advanced feel very comfortable that this course was a worthwhile investment.
I loved Shannon's direction in choosing a course project- she provided individual feedback using each person's skill level, comfort and interests as a starting point. I also enjoyed seeing what my classmates made- garments, crafts, home dec and gifts. It inspired me to learn so much more of what my machine can do and what I might enjoy sewing.
The course covered both caring for and learning about the basics of sewing with todays fabrics, machines, tools, patterns and notions.
I would highly recommend this course to any beginner sewer, any returning sewer and anyone that needs inspiration on what to do with a sewing machine.
