|It was nice to see some old faces here- a few took all four of the Beginning Sewing Labs 101-104 like I did.
For this class I completed the boys Plus Size Carpenter Pants #6103 and Shannon's Lesson on the fly zipper insertion was perfectly timed. I learned the hard way that practicing with a muslin first did not mean I should use muslin fabric- it meant a fabric with the same characteristics as the one I would be using!
Thankfully I learned not only how to alter my pattern for a fit, but also how to avoid puckering on the crotch seam, why I should use interfacing even on heavier fabrics, and how a bias affects sewing on a curve.
Again, no chat with this class but the one-on-one answers to our questions appeared on the Class Message Board.
The timing of this class overlapped a bit with the PR Serger Fundamentals class so I stayed busy!
