I've really enjoyed looking at everyone's sewing rooms and storage ideas over the last few of years. One thing I've noticed is many of you use the plastic storage drawers. Some brands can only be stacked as they are (such as the smaller Sterlite boxes I have). I just wanted to point out that some of these can be pulled apart and combined as you need them. Just remember to put the extra parts in a safe place so you can re-rearrange in the future. I've changed them a couple of times now.

I'm about done with my sewing room clean-out, and have now reconfigured my Iris drawers to have
- 7 drawers in each stack so they just fit under the lowest shelf in the room.
- 8 drawers next to the sewing machine for threads and manuals, because it's a nice height to reach the scissors and stuff on top
- 12 drawers by the window, because that's how many sections I had left and wanted to keep the outlet easy to access. And to discourage the kitties from sitting on top of them.

Also, when stacking those that can't be rearranged, sometimes I will use a bit of packing tape, just to insure that they stay stacked.

And if you have drawers that you like to remove to access the back, cutting a bit off the tabs makes it easier to get them out.

Updated photos are in the works.
