I use cotton clothesline instead of more expensive cotton cording for welting on furniture covers. The 3/16" size is perfect and is very inexpensive. I purchased 100 feet for $2.99 at Walmart. Similar cording in the fabric dept. was $.62 a yard. I used 82 feet in my chair covers. This saved quite a bit of money. I soaked a length of clothesline and threw it in the dryer. It did not shrink at all. Similar cording must be preshrunk.
