If you are making a close-fitting garment, the time of day that you fit the garment matters. Most people's waistlines tend to expand as the day progresses, as much as one inch. If you are planning on wearing a close-fitting dress in the evening, do your fitting after dinner, not in the morning when your measurements (and waistline) will be at their fullest.

Boy, is this the truth! Women also need to be aware of changes around their menses - ask me how I know!!

I've learned this the hard way, and you're right about the waist gaining an inch. Mine does. I also recommend this tip for shopping ready to wear, and shoes. Great tip! Thanks.
