I have been lucky enough to have a source for jeans thread for hemming jeans in the usual orange and dark blue. However, my daughter's new jeans had more of a gold thread. I had some gold maxilock thread that would work but definitely not the heavy jeans variety. I used the triple straight stitch option on my machine, lengthening the stitch. I tested it on the fabric that I had to cut off to check the color match and the length. Can't tell that it wasn't the original hem.
