| This is a club that meets monthly for 3 hours, 11 months of the year. It costs $100.00 plus the cost of the project that is being done for the month. I went to my first club meeting and we made fleece coats. Ahead of time, however, we were expected to pick up all required notions and have the pattern cut out. It was worth while. I got great instructions on what my machine does, how to "fancy" the stitches to make a nicer garment and walked away wearing a great jacket. As well, I worked in conjuction with 5 other ladies that had something in common with myself. A draw-back would be the club doing something that you have no interest in making or the cost of the project. For this jacket, the total was probably $25.00--more than I would have bought it for retail. However, I had 3 hours of comraderie, fun and learning that I would not have gotten if I purchased the jacket off the rack at a store. |
