This is a traveling full day class hosted by Sandra Betzina and her new home dec co-author Debbie Valentine. These ladies are knowledgeble and charismatic. Part of the day is spent with each of the author's specialties. The only reason I gave this great class two stars instead of three is the slightly unusual presentation. Sandra began with her fashion stuff, and after an hour or so Debbie took over with home dec. This pattern continued all day. Quite possibly they do this so each gets a break from being on the spot for a bit, but it was just a little bit difficult to shift gears. This class was sponsored by a regional fabric store chain.
This is my second SB day class, and as usual you just want to go home and SEW! She is funny and very real. The audience was small, so we all got to ask questions. She signed our books and went fabric shopping with us during lunch. We got to see a rolling rack full of her clothes. Wild, but very nice.
The big suprise for me was Debbie's presentation. I had no interest in home dec, and now have a faux fur, velveteen, silk edged throw planned for a special gift. This lady really knows her specialty. The pictures in their new book speak for themselves. She gracious and shared her talents in an interesting and well prepared presentation.
It was a fun day, and as usual I learned a lot. If these ladies tour near you I know you will both enjoy the class and learn something. |
