I have attended this show from the first time it came to Cleveland. One of the best things about it is that I have met designers and bought their independent patterns. There have been a good selection of fashion fabrics, notions, interesting books, and good deals on embroidery designs. I have heard that the Expo has been sold to new owners and I don't know if that was solely the problem this year, but they were down about 40 vendors. The show has increased dramatically over the years and while hit by the economy, sewers flocked to this show. I have heard that people do not want to come to Cleveland because we don't buy. That was certainly true this year, because there was nothing to buy. I am hoping that the new owners will focus on marketing their show and bring vendors back to this show. I know the center where it is held is gouging vendors but maybe it's time to consider a new venue. Here's hoping things improve.
