As one with intermediate sewing skills I wanted a refresher course especially that focused on skirt fitting, and this class promised to help students professionally customize skirt patterns.
I do not own Diana Rupp's Sew Everything Workshop, Diana's book for which this class served as a companion course. Instead I used a McCalls straight skirt pattern. At the end of the class I had a beautifully lined skirt that fit very nicely. Since the class i've applied the lessons to another skirt with great success.
Diana's style is very easy to follow and the lessons were divided very logically.
I found a few lessons slow, such as how to thread a sewing machine, but I knew this basic information would be presented for beginners.
My only criticism was the mediocre video quality as the video "froze" regularly anywhere from a few seconds to permanently. This was so frustrating.
All in all, Diana is a competent and pleasant instructor and the class was worth the $29.99 I invested.

I had the problems with screen freeze too. But than I switched to Chrome, like their e-mail suggested and it is all good from now on. The class - very basic. I don't have the book either.

Hmm, I might just try this one out--I'm sure this brain of my could use a refresher! I'm in some Craftsy classes and love them, but I did find the video would freeze up--but I started watching them in Google Chrome and that mostly cleared up the problem.

AHHhh...a Craftsy class! Excellent format they have there, and the videos do not freeze very often. I think that the Craftsy part makes these classes because they have really gone out of the norm to provide a usable forum for the folks taking the class. As well, once you pay, your class is going to be there for as long as Craftsy is, and you can go back and review and rewatch, and I am sure this is one of the most handy aspects of these classes. I am enrolled in a couple of quilting classes there, and have been very happy with them. You can buy DVDs but to have the forums, the messaging and the non-ending class available is really the iceing on the Craftsy cake no matter what class you take.
