Thought this was worth posting again, since I've recently used the tissue paper tip I learned about on this site. I actually just pinned my fabric pieces together with tissue paper under them, so it was the bottom layer when sewing. It worked like magic! Not only was it much easier to sew my silk chiffon, it prevented the bias edges from distorting. And the paper tore away from the seam quite easily.
I will be using this technique all the time now!
