| The best way to store knits is to lay them flat, but who has the storage space for that? I recently started storing my knit dresses folded over at the waist on hangers. Wide hangers work best, as they will not leave marks like skinny wire hangers do (even the flocked velvet coated type). This prevents the neck and armhole areas on sleeveless dresses from stretching out of shape. Simply fold the dress in half vertically and neatly place on the hanger. No wrinkles, no stretching. |
That's what I do as well, unless they're unwrinklable fabric and then they're tossed in a drawer.

What a great idea - thanks for sharing! I'll hang mine with my skirts, on the bar below my sweaters/tops, for easier matching.

I use the drycleaner hangers with the non-slip cardboard roll covering the bar. We live in an RV and this prevents slipping during travel.
