2012 saw another terrific Quilt Festival. this year indeed it seemed to me that one could get around more easily - still loads of people having a lot of fun, and the weather was pretty nice for the entire time. A bit warm, but doable. As usual there were many vendors and participants from all over the country and a few from another country or two. :) Canada was represented, as well as the US Far West. It is pretty subjective, but I took pictures of the quilts I liked best, and I shopped a lot this year. I bought real thread cards, pre-stenciled whole cloth kits, a set of Halo-like rubber clad quilters assists for FMQ, a lovely made in USA Deneen Pottery coffe mug, and various other odds and ends, as well as enjoyed the company of friends. I took a class in FMQ, which was a brain training class really by Linda Visnaw - a fun class of half a day. Classes are always so well organized as far as logistics of rooms, setups etc. at the Exposition, as they really know how a show is put on. Saint Michael's college houses participants and also runs frequent shuttles so that people aren't stranded. Food and drink are available at the exposition itself and at the college during the show - the college has a schedule of hours and enjoys being able to host the quilt show I think. I do think the local hotels need to keep the quilt festival itself informed of the shuttle schedule they run, as friends were almost unable to get that info, and in fact got it from the St. Mike's shuttle people finally. So next year - I hope even more people come who read PR. If you aren't interested in quilting, you can see each and every sewing machine company represented at the festival with loads of new machines! That is another one of my favorite activities - looking and petting machines. :)

Good idea, Muffet to tell people ahead of time about the shuttle. It seems it is not well known and should be. You make the festival sound like a lot of fun. I know how much you enjoyed petting each and every machine. :)
