Anne St Clair gives this class and has been doing this for about 27 yrs.
The class was at her shop "NeedleNook Fabrics" in Wichita, KS. She only allows 4 students at a time (there were only 3 in my class due to one student didn't show). We arrived early to be measured and trace off our patterns. Anne measured us and we tried on sample bras that fit the first time. The other 2 classmates had size issues of not being balanced on both sides. Anne had them add a filler of sorts as a lining, which balanced them out. What a difference it made in appearance! Her patterns have been developed by her and are hand drafted.

Anne took us through step by step answering, demonstrating, and helping us all the way. It took all day to sew the first one. She has a book (Intimately Yours Bras that fit) available to help us through the steps, which we all purchased to help us to review after we returned home. By the end of the day we all finished and our new bras were worn home. What a difference in fit, comfort and price!! She had kits that would make 3 for most sizes for $35, which we all purchased along with the pattern according to our size. What a cost difference between what you buy in the store and making your own. She has some wonderful products that she has developed or is the exclusive carrier. Her scissors, reverse sewing aid, and lime green ruler are wonderful. Spend some time on her NeedleNook Blogspot. There is alot of information, and she is great to talk to if you call.

My recommendation is if you can drive, travel, walk or cycle, find a way to take her class. She has them at her store and travels through the country to give classes. Your life may depend upon it. She has done extensive study on the medical aspect of breast cancer, and relates some of it to ill fitting bras that most of us wear. The size I ended up with, was not a size I had ever been fitted in before. One of her goals is health for all women, and teaching women is how she is achieving this. What a difference the fit and making my own is making. Just think a custom fit & made bra costs ???? This is a bargain.

Thanks for this review. Sounds like it might be worth a drive up to Dallas next year. I've made several bras and am amazed how easy they really are but I haven't found my perfect one yet. Great review, thanks!

She is going to be at the ETA Dallas in Feb 2013 doing an all day class. Check on Silhouette Patterns website or with Peggy Sagers.

I went to her website yesterday- it's more of a blog- couldn't find a calendar of where she will be traveling. And no explanations of size- all patterns say to call to discuss how her sizing translates. So I will check back to see if she ever comes to FL.

Thank you for this review & recommendation. I've been hoping to find a workshop and will look for and consider Ann when I am ready. I am also going to look for her book. Can't wait to give bra making a try.

Makes me want to take one of her classes. I will keep an eye out for her. I always prefer being able to have a small ratio so that iretaken the mentoring I need to take home a finished product. It's nice when students can sense a passion in a teacher to help others.
