I used this method to successfully bind the edges of an apron. I think it will work when the fabrics are not too thick, otherwise shifting could occur.

You will need :
- glass head pins
- an edge-stitching foot

1. I prepared the folds in the biais tape using the biais-maker tool and iron. Remember to have the handle of the tool on top, the flat side of the tape on top, the folds under. Keep the iron as close as possible to the tool.

2. Lay out the edges to be bound RS on top on the ironing board. Place the binding on the edges, stab pins into ironing board to hold in place, prepare an edge as long as possible. Steam iron to set the shape of the biais tape. Now lift small sections of the garment and bring the pin point up thru to the RS (if your binding is narrow you may only have 1 edge of the binding caught). Repeat until all edges are in place.

3. Use a 1/4" edge-stitching foot, needle in center position. With RS on top, the garment to the left, binding to the right, butt the folded edge of binding against the inside left prong of the foot (making sure that the edge to be bound is always well inside the folds as you feed it into the machine).

The stitching should look nice on the wrong side of the garment.

(I'll add some photos to explain, didn't know that we can't save drafts of tips, sorry...)
