Education of the Textile Arts (ETA) DC

This was the first of, I hope, many years of Peggy Sagers' ETC Expos in the DC area. I fully enjoyed myself; as a garment sewer, it distilled all that I love about Sewing Expo and ASG Conference into a small, affordable package with all the must-haves. My favorite sewing educators were there - Lyla Messinger, Peggy Sagers, Emma Seabrooke, Anne St Claire, Kathy Ruddy, Jan Bones, Lorraine Henry and Pamela Leggett. There was a vendor hall featuring patterns, notions, and fabrics from the instructors and a few other vendors. (Oh, Wool House, how you take our discretionary income!) They had the most wonderful fabric challenge: there there three participants who made multiple outfits for several prescribed events from fabric supplied by the challenge. These outfits were modeled, to everyone's raves. And, this event was held for a reasonable price. If you were lucky like I am to live nearby, there's no hotel expense and they don't provide meals, so if you want to BYO or hang out at Mickey D's and Taco Bell, you can. If you want nicer food, you can. Tell me, what more could you ask? Thank you, Peggy Sagers, for bringing this to the DC area. And please, come back, ya hear!?

I live in Manassas and wish I would have known about this expo before right now. It sounds like a great expo and I will keep an eye out for this event next year.

There will be an ETA Expo in Newark this summer. I'm considering attending. Your review is definitely a check in the "go" column.

It was small and it was good. Agree with review - thanks to Peggy for organizing it.
