I really liked this DVD. There are three sections.
1. Fitting the upper torso. 2. Fitting Jackets. 3. Fitting skirts and Trousers.
These DVD's are very well done. You can clearly see exactly what Kenneth is doing to the muslin and the paper pattern. He uses his method of pinching and slashing to make adjustments, explains all the alterations very clearly and shows the mechanics of each adjustment. Interspersed are tips and explanations of techniques.
The same process is used in each DVD. The muslin is adjusted, pinning or slashing in the appropriate place, the adjustments are transferred to the paper pattern, a second muslin is made and tweaked with the adjustments transferred to the paper pattern and then the garment is modeled in the fashion fabric.
The models are various shapes and sizes so a broad range of adjustments are covered.
Included with the DVD are 4 articles on Kenneth's fitting methods. A new approach to Fitting, Fine-tune a Bodice Front, Fitting a Sleeveless Garment and Fitting Over Layers. These articles appeared in Threads magazine in 2010.
The only difficulty I had was with the first DVD. I had a hard time understanding how some of the adjustments translated from the muslin to the pattern because of the design of the pattern (Vogue 8833). It has a shawl collar and pleats coming off the shoulder. Watching the DVD a second time helped, but I think this is something that will take a number of viewings before I understand how to transfer some of the adjustments to the paper pattern.
This is the first time that I have viewed Kenneth's pants fitting methods. Some of the techniques I am familiar with but the adjustment he used to correct the diagonal lines on the back leg is very different from anything I have seen in the past. I have this fitting issue so am anxious to try it.
All in all I think this DVD set is worth the $149 I paid for it.

I do not think this is a good fitting DVD for beginners. It does not explain what size pattern you need or how to take measurements. I think some basic understanding of flat pattern making is a prerequisite.

I recently shattered my wrist and dvd's will be the only way for me to get my sewing fix for the next 2-3 months. This set of DVD's sounds very informative and worth the high price tag. Thanks for your review.

From what I've seen in my own pants fitting, these wedge adjustments alter the angle of the crotch thus eliminating a lot of problems. Thanks for the great review. I've taken courses with KK in person and he's a great teacher.

OK I checked the pants DVD again. Kenneth does not have a lot to say about the crotch curve, he does most of the adjustment to the leg and under the butt. On the curvy model he did a wedge adjustment the crotch length on the back to add length and on the front he did another wedge adjustment to eliminate a diagonal wrinkle. Most of the adjustments are done to the back under the butt and on the back leg.

Kenneth calls pants trousers. He spends most of the 3rd CD reviewing pants. He has two pants models, one slender and one curvy. I will get back to you on the crotch adjustment question.

Thanks for this review, AdaH. The Threads issues don't address pant fitting, and so I'm wondering how much detail Kenneth includes on the DVD specifically about pants - and, in particular, how much times does he devote to adjusting crotch fit on trousers? And does he distinguish fitting pants versus trousers? Any information you can share on these aspects of this DVD would be appreciated. Thanks!
