|Disclaimer: I received this class for free in exchange for posting a review on my blog http://jillybejoyful.blogspot.com/2013/07/the-sisters-tilton-and-their-fabulous.html. That said, when asked for my opinion, I give an honest one!
My blog review is lengthy, with pictures, so if you want the full story it's best to just read it there. The short version is that I whole-heartedly recommend this class for anyone who has just a little bit of experience sewing knits, on up to someone who has a lot of experience but is open to learning more tips and techniques.
The sisters teach and share wonderfully as a team, and make everything easy to follow. They each teach a detailed version of their own favorite, basic neckband - neither of their versions are destined to be my favorite basic neckband, but that's a personal preference. They both place the band seam at the shoulder seam, and although I tried it their way, I still prefer my neckband seam placed at the center back.
You should already know some basic fitting for your body, but they go through a lot of fitting techniques both at the pattern level, and re-checking during the construction - great tips for refining the fit when you're working with different fabrics, which can behave (and fit) very differently than the last time you made the same pattern!
Other tips include finishing techniques for hems and seams, tips for using a sewing machine only (no serger), and working with different types of fabrics.
I feel that I have a LOT more confidence in knowing how to tweak and play with a TNT (the pattern provided, Katherine's Vogue 8793 is definitely in my TNT category now!), and even though I've already made quite a few t-shirts, I learned some valuable tips, and ingrained some better habits for future projects.
Bottom Line? 2 thumbs up! There are more details, and pics of the 3 t-shirts I made during the class, at my blog: http://jillybejoyful.blogspot.com/2013/07/the-sisters-tilton-and-their-fabulous.html
