Last night I was pinning a seam and then tried to oh so carefully slip it on without stabbing myself or dislocating the pins. It wasn't working very well, and I suddenly had an idea to make it easier.
Fold a small piece of tape over the pointy end of the pin!
It saved me some pain, and also kept the straight pins from slipping out of place.
