I picked this tip up in a Craftsy quilting class. These clips are actually made for RVers to attach to the picnic table to keep the tablecloth from blowing off the table. They work great for attaching your quilt back to the table in preparation for pin basting. They are cheap and readily available.

Just to note...I clicked on the link and it just brought me to the mail REI page. I clicked it on a second time and it took me to the clips. Good idea. Made of metal so they would be more durable than the plastic ones I've seen.
