Ice cube trays designed to make tiny cocktail cubes are the perfect size for bobbins. Available at the local Dollar Store, they are inexpensive enough to have a tray for each color or type of thread you use. The trays stack and can be labeled for easy identification.

I use blue plastic staple boxes. I'm not sure if they make them anymore, though.

wow|||| this is great. I have several sewing machines. I keep the older ones for the grandchildren to learn on Now I can mark each tray with their machine and name.THanks also for telling me where to locate them.
