Perhaps some of you are already using this method but I'll go ahead and share.
I don't like using and pinning the tissue pattern so I trace onto tracing paper to preserve the original.
The problem with this, is that it's hard to pin through thicker paper and pinning is tedious, especially if I need to move it, take out the pins and repin, UGH!!!!
So I use painters masking tape from the 99cents store. I double it over to make it stick to the pattern piece and also onto the fabric. It's easy to lift off the fabric, it stays put when I cut and it comes easily off the pattern piece when I'm through with it.
It's faster going when it's time to layout and cut, even though it does take time to trace the pattern, at least I have a durable pattern on hand to reuse later.
I also store my patterns in a large Manila envelope, I hate re stuffing everything back into the original pattern envelope!

Great tip - I also like to trace off the pattern on to baking paper which is difficult to pin. Will try this next time thanks.
