| Worcester, MA, April 15, 16, 17. This is only my third "expo" and I thought it was wonderful. I believe 2002 was the first year this particular expo came to Worcester and I just went for the day to shop. I didn't go last year at all, but this year, I signed up for classes. I took Cynthia Guffey's "Your Personal Best" on Wednesday's More the Day Before. This was fantastic, Cynthia is absolutely wonderful. She has her own style down to a "T"!! She is where I want to be, in that department. I took 2 of Fred Bloebaum's classes, 1 from Lyla Messinger, 1 from Barb Callahan, and another one from Cynthia Guffey. They were all great--I learned a lot, maybe too much, and can't wait to try some of the ideas presented. I don't know if anyone is familiar with Barb Callahan, her company is "Barb Originals." She designs patterns, mostly women's clothing, and works with mostly 100% linen fabrics, which she also sells. I am a linen lover also, so this was especially interesting to me. Well, I'm all fired up right now, so hopefully I'll have some pattern reviews to post soon. |
I took several C. Guffy classes, bought 8 of her videos, and plan for more. In my book, she is simply the best. I did buy a couple of Barb's Originals patterns. I too had a wonderful time at the Expo. I can't wait for next year. They even offered some good food...you just had to ransome your fabric to pay for it. ;o)

Can someone please help me. I purchased a pattern at the show to make a purse from a quilted placemat and it also contained pattens for purse accessories make from quilted hot pads. I have someone lost this pattern while searching for the materials to make these items. I paid cash and don' t have the name of the company to order another one. Please email me privately at melissawag@aol.com if you can help me. Thanks in advance.
