I was thinking about this today, and there's an even easier way to make a pattern. Use a paper or thin plastic disposable bowl that you like the shape and size. Cut 8 evenly spaced slits in the sides, until the bowl will lay flat. Now how easy is that? The fabric bowl will turn out exactly the same size and shape.
