This is the second Sandra Betzina class I took yesterday, the first was the Fast Fit Seminar which I also reviewed. This was a fun class. Sandra talked of the fashion trends, her patterns and all the great fabrics out there. She had a lot of samples of different techniques, suggestions on combining fabrics, lots of her fun garments and lots of stories ( we got to learn how she designs and how she gets her patterns approved by Vogue).
I got to see her pocketbook pattern made up in different fabrics and even though I had not been impressed when I saw it in the book I am ready to go get it now. It is light and fits nicely around your body. I highly recommend it. She was wearing Vogue 7885 an Asian inspired dolman sleeve jacket and it was beautiful, I specially liked the shawl collar. The bias dress Vogue 7823 (whick I have in my stash) looks lovelier up close, very classy. She also had some pieces of upcoming patterns and said that a "Channel look" jacket will be coming out soon with directions on how to fringe it. She explained how her Today's fit patterns are graded which has encouraged me to go ahead and give them a try.
Her book Fashion Savvy goes along with this class, I have it and use it constantly.
Anyways if you have a chance take this class you'll come away inspired.
