This was a two-part, all day affair with Peggy Sagers. The first 4 hours were dedicated to fitting a pants muslin and the second 2 hours included a trunk show and expose of upcoming fabric and styles.
The fitting class was very sparsely attended, but great for those of us who did. I even took a day off work! With 3 students, there was considerable dedicated attention.
Everyone brought in a basted muslin, which Peggy then pin fit for each of us. It was great to finally see how all the modifications I'd read about worked in real life. There were all figure types in the class, so everyone got to see how other changes were done.
Once pin-fitted, we stitched the alterations in our muslins and wandered around class in them, to be certain everything was tweaked to our personal satisfaction. Peggy made any changes requested, as well as offering suggestions and tips on stylistic (as opposed to fit) modifications.
The last of the fitting seminar showed us how to use our new muslins with purchased patterns: lining things up and making the changes, modifying fit for different styles, adding pockets, etc.
If Peggy Sagers ever comes to your part of town, I highly recommend her classes. It was a day well spent! |
I would like to endorse this review! I have a wonderful custom-fitted basic pants pattern from a pants-fitting seminar with Peggy Sagers and can use it to make any kind of pants, any length. We had so many students for this we had sessions both morning and afternoon. She handled us with great aplomb and you can imagine we had every body type & size there is! A great experience!

I took the same workshop with Peggy a couple of years ago and whole-heartedly agree. Peggy is a master at getting the perfect fit for every body...and she is a down to earth and wonderful personality too. An extremely worthwhile way to spend your money and a GREAT and productive way to spend the day.

I just attended a half day seminar with Peggy in toronto and helped her out with her trunk shows. What an experience! Despite 4 years of FFRP, I haev not been able to perfect a pant sloper. Now, thanks to Peggy, I have a sloper to work with. I have even talked a couple of neighbours into letting me do them up a muslin each for practice. If they like the fit, then they can buy the fabric and I will do a pair up for free just for the experience and the exposure. I lovbe her sense of humour ... we also had the full gamut of bodies in the class! Very educational!
