I attended this fabulous class about one month ago at the G Street Fabric store in Falls Church, VA. The teacher, Patricia Cundari, is excellent, professional, extremely knowledgeable, & very generous. The class is taught workshop-fashion in G Street's very nice classroom space. You just bring whatever project you need help with. We had a small group with widely varying needs & everyone got ample help. I totally recommend it! The teacher gives a longer, similar class called "mentor sewing". Also G Street is a great store with locations in Rockville, MD & one other location which I forget at the moment, besides Falls Church, VA. The stores are in the Washington DC metro area. When the first store opened it was actually on G Street in NW DC. However, they only have the suburban stores now. They have everything - including a huge selection of remnants at any given time. 12/02

I love G Street! I live in the Berkshire Mts. of Masachusetts and whenever we go to Virginia to visit my family we girls always steal away for a day at G Street. I also am able to buy upholstry fabric there very reasonable ($7/yd) for use in my antiques shop. Wish we had something like that up here!

Good to know. I use to live in Virginia. The other G Street Store is in Cenreville in the Sully Station Shopping Center off Centreville Road or Rt. 28.

In fact, and I learned this recently, the original store was on G Street in Washington BUT the owner's name starts with a G--so it's a play on his name as well. The sons now run the store. Though it's not on G Street anymore, the store's name still fits. They now have four stores in the Washington area and I understand they are opening a new store in Towson, north of Baltimore. It's a wonderful resource for quality fabrics, a great selection of home dec and quilting fabrics, and they have lots of classes. The best part: People working at G Street DO sew!

The third G Street store is in Chantilly, VA, and like the other two has a fantastic selection and wonderful service. The classes I have taken there have always been more than satisfactory and even though I've been sewing a LONG time and consider my skills well above average, I've always learned something new and exciting in a G Street class. :)
