I really, really, really hated the messy thread ends hanging off my bobbins and spools of thread. My bobbin cases were always a mess. My seven year old daughter came up with the perfect solution that works for me.
Watching me wind (again!) a bobbin that had become loose and messy, she handed me one of her hair elastics, the very small elasticy kind that are so popular right now for girls' braids. I wound the bobbin and then slipped the elastic around it...problem solved. It fit like a charm around the bobbin and solved the same problem with spools of thread.
I like to use the clear ones..since they cost something like $1 for 500 at Sally's or Walmart, they are very cost effective.
No more messy, tangled up bobbins in the bobbin cases! |
