Since I just finished a wedding veil, I was reading other veil reviews, and thought of this tip. When cutting out tulle for a veil, it can be hard to get a smooth edge. I know sometimes I get jigs and jags when using my scissors. After cutting the shape of your veil, run the edge of the tulle through an UNthreaded serger. The blade smoothes out any jig jags. This works well for anywhere you need the tulle or netting to be smooth.
I'm sure rotary cutting works well also, however I only like my rotary cutter for quilting.
