I love appliques on kid's clothing, but I can't even draw a stick person, let alone a decent heart, flower, etc... and I am too cheap to buy templates or those premade appliques. So I had a lightbulb moment the other day. I have a rather large collection of cookie cutters in a bunch of different shapes and sizes...TA DA! Instant templates! Just draw around the outside of your cookie cutter, either directly on your fabric and cut out, or you can buy that heavy duty plastic sheet stuff and draw around the cutter on there so you have a permanent template, then place on your fabric and cut out..
My aplogies of this has been thought of and posted here before..it was a new idea to me, and hopefully to some of you... |
Great and easy idea!!! I will definitely have to use this one! Thanks!

What an excellent idea! I've got a box of about 100, including holidays, numbers, letters, dinosaurs ... the possibilities with this tip are endless!! :-D

Geez, this is a great tip! And to think all my cookie cutters are in a bag in a closet because I couldn't think of a reason to use them anymore! I love this tip, so a big thanks!

Wonderful idea! My MIL has tons of cookie cutters that don't get used anymore so I now know what we can do with them. :)
