I made a Burda WOF skirt with a faced waist recently. Skirt 104 from the May 2004 issue. It took me endless hours trying to decipher the waist facing instructions and I never did manage to. So I basically invented my way out of the problem.
Heres what I did:
1) Stitch the waist ends of facing and skirt with right sides together and the ends turned back about 5mm (3/16in) back over the facing (as they face you) at the zip opening ends.
2) Stitch waist seam allowance to facing with the facing spread away from the skirt.
3) Now press the facing back as it should be once finished (wrong sides of skirt and facing together).
4) Heres the tricky bit. Stitch the folded edges at zip opening together with the zipper tape and vertical allowance (only), along the fold. Stitch as much into the corner as possible. To do this you will be sewing with the seam allowance at zipper opening against the feed dogs and sewing in between the facing and skirt.
I ended up with a sealed end for the facing at the zipper opening.
thanks . I am just a begenner in this field.I hope it will help me a lot.
