I have been working on some projects lately that require precision sewing. My straight sewing foot has been useful, but I still have difficulty seeing the exact position of the needle on the fabric. Then last week I had an AHA! moment - use an open-toe applique foot. With this foot, which is available for many machines (I have one for each of my Viking and Pfaff machines, and I believe they are available for Kenmores, Berninas and Brothers), you can see exactly where your needle is going to be on the fabric. It makes sewing tricky areas much easier.
HTH!

I love this foot too and use it often! White has one as well.

Good tip, Ann. I use my patchwork foot on my Bernina the same way.
