I am new to sewingworld, but wanted to sign up and saw where classes could be reviewed. I grew up in Illinois, and recently had the opportunity to visit home and to take classes from Londa"s Creative Sewing Studio in Savoy , Illinois . It was positively the best class I have ever taken, and I have taken several classes from Professionals .
Londa is a really beautiful person , both physically and in spirit . She is a gifted teacher , has a fabulous mail order business, and sells beautiful fabrics as well . I bought a beautiful piece of sculpted polar fleece that I am pretty sure I saw in an outfit in Coldwater Creek .
The best thing is that I learned not one, but 3 ways to fit patterns to myself , and i have been on that quest for years . I have taken confusing classes on that in the past , and never been successful, but now I have got it !! I am so excited about my sewing that I can hardly stand it !
I must have purchased 12 patterns at least by independant pattern makers .. the beauty of this was , Londa had the outfit made up in a yummy fabric, and I could see the finished outfit on her , and then say "I'd like this pattern , and this one , x11 !
She often has a paper called Londa's Two Cents Worth , which is a primer , evaluater of the pattern with excellent opinions and sewing tips .
By all means , visit her websites, and look at her gorgeous fabric, clothing ( some for sale ) and her darling and creative sweatshirt jackets ... she can provide you with anything you need , and if you are in the area , see if you can visit the shop, or take a class, or have your figure and colors analyzed by a really talented seamstress.. I also learned alot of sewing tips .. her workmanship on her garments is exquisite, plus the design and creative thought as well . It was the most wonderful opportunity for me , and one I intend to do a Part II of !
