I just discovered a great way to remove tailor's chalk.

This is similar to WandaJ's tip but different enough that I thought I'd post it...

I was frustrated because I was having a hard time removing chalk from a sandwashed fabric. I used a leftover piece of heavy flannel from a previous project and voila! The chalk was gone in a few strokes.
