I know we have another topic Fabric and more, but that's mostly apparel fabric. Maybe we can get a pinnable one under Quilters C orner for quilting and craft fabric?

Fabric? Do you mean that you folks have fabric? You mean, you have it at home, just fabric? What an interesting concept, I might have to try that...

Oh yes quilting is a great excuse to buy fabric just to buy. I don't anymore as I have enough for a while, quite a while. My name is Laurie and I'm addicted to quilting flannel.

So, who will start the topic? After it is started, who will contact the Mod's to ask for it to be pinnable?

Quilting is relaxing to me. I love to play with fabrics, patterns and colors.

it's already started. I can't send message as I'm not a paying member. I meant a thread to discuss fabric sales, fabric online, talk about our stashes etc.

My favorite brands of fabric for quilting are Moda and Michael Miller. Both shrink very little, hold up well for sewing and seem to me more tightly woven than other brands I have tried.

I like Acufil thread as well for quilting.

I can't say that I have a favorite manufacturer, I have several that I really love! I LOVE Riley Blake Designs, Robert Kaufman, Benartex, and of course Moda. I have had some inconsistancy with Moda. Some is silky and gorgeous and some is much rougher textured.

My favorite places to buy fabric is Hawthorne Threads, Missouri Star Quilt Company and ebay.

I like a lot of Elizabeth Studio designs. They do a lot of animals. I was collecting real looking animal fabrics for a while there. I won't say how many I have. But they do take up a rather large plastic tote. As I've said I have a lot quilting flannel also. And some batiks. I got a 50 piece fat quarter assortment for a quilt border. And other various misc pieces lol. Doesn't look like a lot but it's not stored altogether either lol

I love the Elizabeth Studio animals. I also have collected the realistic looking ones. I have a farm quilt planned, a chicken quilt planned, and a western quilt planned. I found her designs wonderful for all of these.

Of course, I am not making any of those quilts at the moment. They have to wait while I drive myself nuts doing other ones.
