I quite often embroider logos and company names on Tee shirts and jackets etc for my husband but often am not satisfied that they are quite where I wanted them to be, too much to the left, higher than I wanted etc.

I have found this link giving directions as to placement which others might find useful as well:

http://www.amefird.com/embroidery_placement.htm#apparel

I think there's nothing worse than spoiling things so now I will be more professional with my placements. Hope this helps someone!

I use the "Embroiderer's Buddy" placement tool. There is an adult as well as a child sized one. It works really good.

Thanks for that useful link.

In spite of all my efforts I just embroidered a lovely design on a cardigan for my Mum and when it was finished I wished it was more over to the right, so I had to carry on adding designs until I covered the whole side to make it look right.

Must visualise more how it will look.
