I'm making a toile of BurdaStyle 114B pencil pants. On this and many of their pants pattern instructions, they tell you to :

"Stretch seam edges: Lay back trouser pieces together, right sides facing. (Okay, no problem.)
Then "Press inside leg edges above seam with a steam iron to stretch them to match corresponding edges of fronts."

Huh? What area of the back pieces are they talking about? I researched this a lot on the internet and can find no clues as to the meaning. Meanwhile, of course, Burda has virtually no customer service to speak of so I cant contact them. Well I can email, but they commonly respond 2 months later.

Can anyone point me in the right direction on this step? I would much appreciate it.

They are talking about the back upper inseam. The back inseam is usually drafted shorter than the front, so it can be steamed and stretched to fit the front, for a better fit on the body. It usually works best with fabrics with some natural fibers.

I have not yet begun to procrastinate

Update: soon I will decide when I will begin procrastinating.
