Pants One last adjustment .....I hope

Date: 9/12/12 7:05 PM Hi, I'm making the Silhouette #3400 yoga pant in a Ponti knit type fabric. I noticed that the front crotch curve is fairly shallow. My problem is that I have two fairly large smiles at the front crotch. The back of the pants look really good. So far I have: Let out the front inseam - FFRP Scooped out the front crotch seam by about 1/4". The pants still look exactly the same, in fact I think the first alteration probably made the problem even worse. I'm wondering if next time I try lengthening the front crotch hook by, say, 1/2"? She did one specifically about the yoga pants, and she has a few more besides on pants in general. I will say that Peggy is not a fan of scooping. If letting out the front inseam made it worse adding to the inseam will make it that much worse. It's just doing more of the first alteration you did. Peggy say's the secret to fitting is length, depth and circumference. The fact that letting out the front inseam made the problem worse makes me think that, despite the shallow front crotch curve, there is too much length in the front seam from waist to crotch curve. Try pinning a dart out of the front seam, an inch or two above the curve, with the widest at the front seam to nothing at the side seam. She did this on the jeans fitting video to get rid of smiles in the front and it does work! Debbie
