I'm looking for a pattern for an aviator cap, like the first item listed here: http://www.uswings.com/avcap.asp
I found some cold weather patterns that cover the ears and are similar, but I'm really looking for the side to be all one piece, rather than one for the head and one for the ear/tie...
Anyone know one I'm missing?

Those seams are needed to get the head shape so there is no way to get it done without those ( dart ) seams.

I recently made a hat from Green Pepper patterns that had ear flaps cut on. It's not a aviator hat, but might give you something to go on.
