I'd like to learn how to sew bags and I'll start out with a simple tote, but I would love to learn how to make a bag with zippered pockets in the lining and a middle pocket ... not too many patterns that I've seen have this. Any suggestions on how to sew or which pattern to look at? Thanks.

There are a lot of instructions on line for adding a zipper pocket in the lining.

Thanks for asking this question - I've also been looking around for a pattern for a 2-compartment bag.

I don't know if this applies, but I have just sewn my first bag, which has 2 compartments, and a centre divider. It is sold as a lunch bag for kiddies, but can just as easily be a purse/ tote for you...

Is this what you are looking for? If so,

you can purchase the PDF downloadable pattern here

thanks for all the great links everyone, I will definitely print these tutorials out and save them for my bag adventure. I hate to have all my things jumbled in one compartment, especially in a bigger bag. Looking forward to sewing something that doesn't require fitting :)
