Is there any pattern similar to this blouse?

Does anyone know of a pattern with a collar similar to this blouse. I simply cannot stomach paying people $138 for a top, even if it is a good fabric. Think of all the other useful things I could do with a hundred bucks! It seems like it would be relatively easy to put together if I had a pattern for the collar, and I want a different color anyway. Thanks if you can come up with anything. Maybe I should order just to copy it, then send it back? Oh, did I say that out loud...no, I've never done that.

that is very pretty. Jalie has a scarf collar top that people rave about; perhaps that would work?

Does McCall 5884 work?
I made one in sleeveless.

It's actually OOP, but I found it on Ebay.
I also love this look!

Sorry I didn't realize the tie was detacheable. That's pretty cool!

I have that McCall's pattern. I recently made it, but it didn't work for me, but others like it. It's cut out to sz 14. If you want it, pm me with your address & I'll mail it to you.

How about one of the new Simplicity patterns. Either 1779 or 1784.

That's a good one! I like the version with putting the tie through an opening at center front. It would keep the tie from hanging down and getting in your way when leaning forward.

Thanks...enjoyed reading your review. I probably would raise the neckline, also. I just want a sort of v-neck, but not low cut. I have thyroid issues and can't stand anything tight near my neck. I would love to perfect a blouse pattern like this for office wear, and it would be my favorite forever!

Beverly, thanks so much for the pattern offer, but I think that would be too tight on me. I usually start with a 16 and start tapering in. I'm much more skilled at getting things fitted smaller, than I am at grading or enlarging.

That Jalie always looks great. If you want a woven, the Style Arc Tiffany Blouse is for a woven (I think the Jalie is stretch), with princess seams. I haven't sewn it up yet though. Lareine reviewed it here: http://sewing.patternreview.com/review/pattern/74455
(Sorry, I can't get the link to work in this browser)

Or check it out on StyleArc.com.au. Warning: Shipping to the US is not cheap but it's worth a look.

Thanks, 1784 looks really good for the sleeves since it has the barrel cuffs. Now I'm fascinated to know why the 1784 collar stands up, while on the Pendleton blouse the collar lies flat. Hmm….I'll have to think about that one because I'm just curious. Come to think of it, I've never sewn a collar like that where the band would stand up…I guess that's because I don't like Mandarin collars so I never encounter such a thing. I've only ever sewn regular lie-flat collars. *I just realized that with the Pendleton, the little bow is detachable, so that probably has everything to do with it. The collar is just a separate issue, really. Anyway I don't expect an answer! LOL, I'm just rambling. Probably the fabric choice has a lot to do with how it drapes. I definitely like these 2 patterns also!
