Date: 10/19/05 10:02 PM Can anyone tell me some of the names of these new synthetic fabrics that are being used in sports wear. They are thin, stretchy and allow sweat to evaporate very quickly. I would like to buy some online, but I don't know what to ask for. |

Date: 10/19/05 10:36 PM You are looking for wicking knits as a category and a couple of brands are: coolmax, and powerdry.
I have used both for long underwear and t-shirts. A couple of online sources are: Textile Outfitters in Calgary and Wazoodle in Ontario.
I have also found them at my local fabric stores, including the Wally World $1.97/m bin.
Powerdry comes in quite a variety of weights, from silk weight to quite heavy. Powerstretch has lycra and a fleece side too, it is heavier and good for winter leggings and warm long underwear. ------ Proud parent of a Dwight International School Honour Roll Student |
