There was a post about www.m-sewing.com on the sewing world board. Does anyone have any experience with this company?

In reading the information on their website, they will customize any pattern to your measurements, and you can either buy the printed pattern or download it.

You can also get a free pattern if you set up an account and post to their forum.

They have quite a few designs.

I want to try the jean jacket with knitted sleeves. First I have to dig out my metric tape measure.

I had just followed a link from PR but now I can't find it. I don't have any experience with this Co. but I'm always game for a free pattern so I signed up. Haven't decided which one I want yet, I'll let you know what they're like when I do.

These have been reviewed here on patternreview. I think it is the same Russian company that goes by the name Lekala and Leko. The pattern photos look the same. Here is a link to one of the reviews:
Lekala Pant Review

Edited: Actually I looked at their website a little further. The pant review link above is for a pattern from software which is produced by Vilar Soft. m-sewing.com is the using that software to make their patterns and is located in the US. Here is info from the contact us section of their website:

What is LEKO CAD?
The software we use to make the designs of the clothes and grade them to any size is developed by Vilar Soft Ltd. We are an official dealer for Vilar Soft in the United States.

LEKO is the first CAD to design apparel patterns from scratch and it is the only currently existing system that automates the very design and pattern making processes. The result of designer's work is digitized set of patterns that may be plotted, printed or transferred into other CADs for future marker making and cutting - LEKO integrates nearly all CADs.

I think these are the Lekala-patterns.
The russian site where for some time you could download patterns for free. I'm sure I recognize some patterns. I love the idea of downloading patterns, although very dangerous too.....retail therapy from behind the computer......to easy....

Well, I jumped through all the hoops and should have a new FREE pattern by tomorrow. I got a jacket pattern and I am a fitting challenge par excellence! so it should be a very good test. When I tried tonight to pull up the site so I could include the URL of the jacket here I couldn't get it to come up.

Is this the Hot Patterns phenomenon all over again? If so maybe we should start lobbying the big 2 and Joann's for better stuff.

I really like some of the Lekala styles, but haven't been able to get past the russian-lanquage-only program. Let us know what you think, Lisette.

Susan and Agnes, it is Lekala. I went to the Lekala website, www.lekala.info and selected the US-English option. It redirected me to m-sewing!

Out of curiousity, I went back and selected the UK-English option and it went to another website with a different company name. That website also offered patterns on CD.

In the "About Us" section of m-sewing it says the company, Modern Sewing, was started by Dmitry and Yana who immigrated to America from the Ukraine.

Is Lekala the main company in Russia that designs the patterns, and these companies in other countries are affiliates using Lekala's software?

Verrrrrrrrrry interesting!
