KathleesS suggested a weekend thread for voting on the where etc.
Currently we seemed to agree with the suggestion of either Melbourne or Sydney. Reason: it is kinda halfway far for those in Perth as well as any possible NZparticipants (me being one if I can swing it)

Probably in the autumn meaning in this case April or May with May possibly being safer due to Easter/Anzac being very close together.

So let's vote!
We'll need people to organise as well. I would be willing to assist as much as I can from accross the ditch but distance is an issue there

Either Sydney or Melbourne is fine with me as is May

YES YES YES
My #1 preference is Melbourne ..just because I love visiting there and transport is is easy on the trams. not to mention cheap, with a day pass.

May sounds good to me too. The cheap flights should be available after the peak easter/anzac day season.

I can help somehow from up here in Brissie.
We should be able to book accomodation on the internet thru some of the discount sites.

Me thinks I'm getting excited

I'd love to go to NY (& one day we'll make the November trip won't we), but I think we start small!

#1 preference Melbourne,
April/May is fine, but pref not June
Happy to be an organiser

By the way, if this becomes regular, in a few years we could go for a fabric trip to asia somewhere? (dreaming)

Not in Australia - but I'd so be up for a trip to India. DH have spent some time in Southern India and he'd love to go back.
And we'll make it to Oz too sometime!

I am for Melbourne (as I live here). May sounds good and I am willing to be a co organiser (maybe). Now how is that for commitment?

I have just come back from a fabric (and other purchases) trip to Hong Kong - so I can recomment that as well! But Melbourne has lots of great shops, many that I have not even got to yet.
