Date: 11/16/05 8:58 PM My new Babylock Ellegante, which I LOVE, already has a problem. When stitching-out embroidery, the machine no longer cuts the jump stitches. It makes the noise and seems to be going through the motions of trimming the threads, but the threads are not cutting. I have checked and the jump stitch cutting button is "on". I have tried three different designs and it's not working on anything. Anyone know what this might be? I am already dreading the idea of schleping this thing back to the dealer...hoping someone can enlighten me so I don't have to.

I have a Babylock Ellageo. While I don't have the feature of cutting jump threads, I have had questions on my machine. I have to say that the Babylock online web site is great.
I would suggest going to babylock.com and submitting your question there. I have always received a prompt reply with helpful information.
Good luck! I hope it is something simple! |

Date: 11/23/05 11:16 AM I don't have your machine, mine is a bernina, but everytime this happens to me I just take it apart and clean the bobbin & thread cutting area. More likely than not, I find a peice of thread has gotten caught in there. HTH!

Date: 11/27/05 3:33 PM I am having the same problem with the jump stitches with my Elegante! Sometimes the feater works and sometimes it doesn't and its always on?
In addition while doing embroidery it jammed and I couldn't turn the wheel. I brought it to the dealer and its going to have to be repaired. I posted a request to the list asking if anyone knew how much embroidery was okay to do. I do about 3 things each day.
I hope to hear more responses from other Elegante owners.

Date: 11/28/05 6:11 AM Susan, I just replied to your question under the topic on satin stitches. I still say 2-3 projects per day --especially the ones you described on the other thread--should be well tolerated by your machine. You do need to keep it cleaned and change needles often as with any machine. I personally think most dealers could've fixed it on the spot unless it hit a pin or some other object that threw the timing off? |

Date: 11/28/05 11:55 AM Thank you so much for your respons. I've been leaning on keeping my Ellegante also. I just didn't know if I was pushing the expecations of what it could do. I really appreciate your response. Thank you. Smiles, Susan ------ Susan
