Hi Everyone,

I have not posted for awhile again and have not been on the board much. My life is quite busy these days. I am getting settled somewhat here in IA where I am now living.

I have met some new friends and have been spending some time in Winterset. That won't mean a lot to maybe all of you but for quilters, this town of around 6000-6500, is a quilters dream.

There is a Ben Franklin store that has a fabric section that I have never seen before in one of them. Quality fabrics and good selection. The reason for that might be that on the other end of the block from them is the store The Love of Quilting... the Fons and Porter store! I went in there for the first time just today. Wow... what a nice store.

I love the feel of this little town, not only is it the filming location for the Bridges of Madison County, which in itself is a plus to me but to have these fabulous quilting stores here too is great!

I am finally finishing up my 6th quilt just in time for Christmas. Which to me with the year I have had is a miracle in itself. I will post a picture when I can... it is really cute. This one is for Madison with dark purple chenille and cotton 4 patch.

I hope everyone has a great Christmas... my year is ending up good and next year will even be better! I am so thankful for all my PR friends!

Oh my gosh, it sounds like a lovely place! I am truly jealous of the quilt store so close by. I'm looking forward to seeing pics of the latest ones you have been making!

Glad you doing so well. They still have Ben Franklins, must be a small town. Sounds like you have a lot of sewers around. Would love to see your quilts.

I was thinking of you a few days ago, wondering if you made the move. Thanks for posting and letting us know how you are doing. Sounds like the answer is "Great!"

Thanks everyone! Yes, I am doing better. I feel better than I have in a long time. My divorce should hopefully be final early next year.

In the meantime I am getting my ducks in a row and hopefully in a few months I will really be getting settled into my new life.

It's been a tough year and I know just how important all the encouragement from all of you over the past months has been to helping me through this.

In the early days of this, just reading the encouragement and letting the tears flow helped more than you will ever know.

Now I am getting back to my sewing and quilting a little and loving it.

If any of you do pass through IA and even get close to Winterset... this is a neat little town and just to be able to go into the Fons and Porter store is neat. I had one of their books before I ever knew I would be moving back here to IA and now to be spending time here and in the store is a real treat!

Jolene, I'm so glad I saw your post before I went to bed. I've had a crappy day and your post ended my day on a very high note. I'm so glad you're life is picking up. When I got divorced, I felt like so many parts of my life were closing to me, but instead, doors began opening up left and right. I hope the same happens to you. Best Wishes.
