When DH got up this morning Max was crying and wasn't using his back legs. We took him to the vet and they said it was a saddle thrombosis - a blood clot lodged in his spine and cut off blood supply to his back legs. Very bad prognosis, so we stayed with him while they administered the injection. We're very sad.

It's always so hard to say good-bye. Here's a hug.

Bonny lass, bonny lass, will you be mine?
You shall neither wash dishes nor serve the wine;
But sit on a cushion and sew a fine seam,
And feast upon strawberries, sugar, and cream.
