Does anyone have a link to a Burda size chart that lists body measurements. I found this Burda size chart. It doesn't include measurements. It is based on RTW size comparisons, which seems pretty inexact to me. For me, those vary from manufacturer to manufacturer. I THINK I'm a 34, but maybe I'm a 36. I usually wear a size 4 RTW, but I COULD wear anything from a 2 to a 6 depending on the brand. I'm pretty much a size 10 in the Big 4.

I posted a thread about a month ago with the size chart scanned from my January world of fashion magazine. If you scroll through the Patterns message board within the last month you should find it. I had not been able to find anything on here so I posted in case anyone else needed the info later.

If it doesn't fit, it was ugly anyway.

Thanks, both of you. I knew I had seen at least one here on the boards before, but darn it, I just couldn't locate it. I used the PR search engine and search Burda under patterns and notions. Anyways, it looks like I fall halfway between the 34 and 36. I fall halfway between the 10 and 12 in measurements for the big 4, but the 10 fits better. Maybe I 'll cut out the 34 with a larger seam allowance.

Patty, let Burda do some of the work for you: It's perfectly OK to trace between the size lines. Just take your measurements according to Burda's chart, including the neck, then circle the size on the chart that you're closest to. You may--probably will--be several different "sizes." That's fine, because you are going to trace off a fairly customized pattern by graduating from, say, one size at the bust, to another at the waist, and so on. Note that Burdas are sized for a woman 5' 6" tall, so you may have to lengthen or shorten a bit.

Can that chart be used for Burda purchased patterns as well. I am trying to order a few burdas from this site. I have a WOF size chart but the sizes don't match up between the two. Individual patterns say 44 is US 18 where WOF says 44 is US 14. Why would they be sized differently?

Elona, Thanks. I'll use a size in between. I'm between 5"7 and 5'8. The extra height is inthe top part of my body. I usually add 1-1/2 " to top and dress patterns. I was going to try the downloaded dress and was thinking that i had to use just one size. However, I think I'll just download both sizes.

Patty, if you read through the thread I posted it gives pretty good instructions for Burda fitting starting with measuring your neck, and going from there.

Patty, which pattern are you downloading? I ask because Burdas are multisized. Does whatever you are using specify that it's a one-size-only?

Oh, I think I understand: It's probably the downloadable dress mentioned on another thread, isn't it, and it does come in single sizes.
